So things have been a little crazy around here.  Jason and I went to Indiana for a week to spend time with my family because my mom had surgery.  It was nice to see them and we had lots of fun but i will never leave Brad again for that long... it was the longest week ever!! Then once we got back Jason and I both got sick and I am just now getting over my cold.  Poor little Jason sounds horrible.  He caught a cold and then that cold caused an ear infection.  It is so sad to see him like this but we went to the doctor and got hm some medicine so he should be feeling better in the next few days! Thank Goodness.  I miss him being happy but i have to tell you he is such a trooper! He has been so good through this whole sickness but we are ready for him to be better!

Small World

Things have been so crazy. With the baby coming early, Brad graduating, our move, and Brad starting a new job i haven't had much time for anything. Jason is such a handful but a joy! We have been having so much fun with him. It has only been six weeks and he is already so big. I put him in this outfit for church on Sunday and he just looked so darn cute i had to take some pictures and when i looked at them i couldnt believe how big he is! Well our move to Denver went very smooth. We found a nice place and so far we love Denver and we are having a fun time getting to know the area. We were a little nervous about making friends but one night when brad was coming home from work he just happened to be on the same train as a couple in our old ward in Provo and what was even better was they are in our ward here! We knew they lived in Denver but what were the chances that we would see them randomly and they lived right by us and are in our ward! So things are going great for us. eventhough we really miss our friends and family in Utah it is fun starting a new life here.

Glad Tidings of Great Joy!!

Well, I figure this is a good time for me to make my first blog post... I am the proud new father of a beautiful baby boy!! Jason Nolan Barrett was born on December 13, 2008 at 10:45 pm. He was three weeks early, but still checked in at a healthy 7 lbs 9 oz and 21.5 inches long! It was a big surprise for us that he came so early, but we are definitely not complaining! It is definitely the best Christmas present either Amanda or I have ever received! Both he and Amanda are healthy and happy, so we feel very blessed. Over the last week, we have spent hours and hours just staring at our amazing son and having a blast seeing him figure out this strange new world he has come to.

Jason's early arrival changes our well-laid plans for the next few weeks... we can now go visit my parents for Christmas, and we will probably be moving to Denver a couple weeks earlier-since the baby and graduation were really the only things keeping us in Provo (except for softball!!).
Oh yeah... the awesomeness of finally graduating from BYU has been completely overshadowed by the birth of our son! He was born on Saturday, right before finals, so, needless to say, I was a little distracted during my last couple of tests. So even though I got my worst scores of the semester, I am pretty sure I passed all my classes, so at this point, I could care less! I am having way too much fun with the new kid in our home to worry about not getting an A in some business law class...
Anyway, we are so thrilled to have Jason with us and hope everyone has a great holiday!!

Full House

This year Thanksgiving was a little bit different for us. We usually go down to St. George and spend the weekend there but this year Brad's family came up North and stayed with us. Yes we had 7 people in our 600 sq ft apartment. It was great to have them all here! We weren't quite sure what to do when they all left. So I am definitely going through that nesting period. I am constantly thinking of what i can clean, organize, or pack all day long. I was in such a cleaning mood at work today i started cleaning out all of my desk then once i was done with that i started cleaning out my folders in my email. I have the baby's sleeping area all ready to go. We put out diapers and wipes and lotions and his clothes that we will be able to use once he gets here! I know i still have like 4 1/2 weeks but he might be ready before that and i want to be ready! There is still so much we have to do before he comes because i am not going to feel like packing much after i have him. I am pretty excited for my next appointment on the 8th because my doctor is going to check and see if i am progressing any. so that is exciting! Brad only has 6 days of class left then some finals and he is done with school!!! woo-hoo! We are still trying to find a place in Denver. We have a few places we like we just need to look into them more and figure out which one is best for us. It is a little scary not being able to see the place and area before we move in but we dont really have any other options right now. But right now we are just enjoying this little bit of time we have together just Me and Brad!

Denver here we come!

Well Denver it is! Brad accepted the job offer in Denver on Friday and we sent in the paperwork. So it is official! So now we just have to try and find a place. That should be interesting. Brad told his boss that he would like to start in the middle of January so that should give us enough time to have the baby and move out there and have a couple days to get settled in. Once we are there Brad gets to leave me for a few days and go to a training in Houston. My mom is coming out for the birth so hopefully she will be able to come to Colorado with us and help me while he is gone... I have no idea what to do with a new born baby! I am so excited to move there! I have already started packing a little :-) Might as well while i am still mobile and i have the motivation. We just did a big dump at DI today... so that got rid of a lot of stuff! I am glad we have till January. I was worried we would have to move right away and i wouldnt be able to decorate for christmas. I almost put up the christmas tree today... but i stopped myself.

8 Weeks to go

We have eight weeks left and we are so ready to meet our little boy! And he is totally ready to come out. He is running out of room in my big belly. It is pretty awesome when he moves around and i can tell what body part i am feeling. It makes me very excited to see him and hold him. Sorry I haven't posted any pictures. I can't figure out how to post them without taking up the whole page... Brad is working on it. So the job hunt is almost over! Brad is just waiting on a call to finalize things. We are very excited but i am not going to say anything else just in case... i dont want to jinx anything!
