Bad Breath!

The Worst part of Bailey's surgery (besides the actual surgery) is her Nasty stinky breath! Poor girl.  No matter what I do it just stinks.  Obviously I brush her teeth and I even started flossing morning and night.  Before I would just floss in the morning but I was hoping that would help a little.  The doctors said that would happen and when they told me I was thinking like morning breath stink but it is so much worse.  Like almost dirty diaper stink.  It is really sad. Today I was getting out of the car and all I did was open her door to get her out and I could smell it. I wasn't even close to her face.  I know this is kind of mean.  I love my sweet Bailey girl and she has been so awesome through all of this.  I just wanted to share my pain with all of you :-)

Bailey's Surgery

On Friday Bailey had surgery to remove her adenoids.  A pretty easy procedure but I am glad it is over.  I tried my best to make it as pleasant of an experience as possible.  The night before we gave her a new pair of princess pajamas and she was pretty excited about that.  I was really nervous because she was not allowed to eat after midnight so we made sure she had a nice filling snack at around 8:30 pm.  The next morning we dropped Jason off at my friend Chelsea's house so Jason could play with Gavin who he loves.  I can't express my gratitude enough for Chelsea. It might not have seemed like a big deal to her but it really took a lot of stress off of me knowing Jason was happy and was well taken care of and I could really focus on Bailey.  After I dropped him off Bailey and I headed over to the hospital. We got there at 9 am and at that point Bailey still had not asked for anything to eat or drink.  I was happy but thought that it would not last much longer.  We got into pre op and now we just had to wait.  I made sure to pack Bailey a goody bag with toys, books, and a new coloring book.  The hospital turned on a movie so she had plenty of distractions.  She did amazing.  I don't think the nurses believed me when I told them last time she had anything to eat or drink was at 8:30 the previous night.  Finally at about 11:15 am the doctor came in made sure to explain to me everything that was going to happen and asked if I had any questions.  I told them I wanted to go back with her until she fell asleep so I had to get all dressed up.  Bailey thought I looked pretty funny.  So then we headed back to the surgery room.  I am So glad I went back there with her because as soon as we walked through the doors she was extremely nervous.  She had tears in her eyes but was trying so hard not to cry.  I sat her down on the bed and she just held on tight to me.  The anesthesiologist was amazing and really helped her feel comfortable.  He did a great job at talking to her until she fell asleep.  I am so glad I was there for her but I just about broke down in tears watching her fall asleep.  It was much different than watching her fall asleep at home.  It was something I hope I never have to see again!!  The operation took about 20 minutes.  When I went back to recovery her was freaking out and screamed for about 15 minutes then fell asleep and slept for about an hour and a half.  We went home at about 2 pm and once we were home she cuddled with Brad for a few minutes then played like nothing had ever happened.  Not what we were expecting at all!!! She is such a brave and tough little girl.  She has so much strength and I am so glad.  All week and all day I was so stressed and thought I was going to break down in tears at any moment but she is such an amazing little girl who helped me get through the whole day. She is doing extremely well and I am glad it is over and I hope it is going to help her sleep more comfortably.

Happy Birthday Bradley

Wednesday was Brad's birthday and he was working up in Fort Collins. So, Wednesday afternoon I packed up the kids and we went up there to be with him.  At the beginning of the week when I did my grocery shopping I picked up some Avengers birthday decorations and saw some sweet masks and had to have them of course.  When we arrived in Fort Collins I headed over to the hotel and decorated and then got the kids ready to go out to dinner.  Jason had been waiting ALL DAY LONG to wear the iron man mask so as soon as Brad walked in the door we all had our masks on.  Not only did we wear them at the hotel but we were required to wear them to dinner.  We went to Red Robin (thanks to Brad's parents yummy gift card) We definitely received a lot of attention and we had a blast.  After dinner we came back to the hotel and Brad opened his presents and we had some cake.

These are my best attempts at getting a picture of all of us in our masks :-)
